Car Insurance

Posted by Vicki on Jul 25, 2008

So much to do lately…I’ve got to get my rear in gear and get bills paid in the next few days…car insurance is due Saturday if I remember correctly, and while I’m at it, I might as well get the first of the month bills done and out of the way as well. I’m very careful about not paying things late, if I can help it, and so far, I’ve done well. *LOL* I had a late light bill here acouple of months ago…thought I had paid it, until they sent me a “nasty gram” as I call it, saying I better pay, or I will get shut off…came inside and looked, and sure enough there was the original bill that somehow I had missed when paying all the other bills….

Promises, Promises

Barbour – July, 2008

by

Amber Miller

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Hi, I’m Amber, but my friends call me Tiff, short for Tiffany, my first name. Writing had always been a hobby, a way for me to express my innermost thoughts and feelings in a way I sometimes find difficult with the spoken word — although my friends will tell you ‘shy’ is not in my vocabulary. Thanks to the gentle nudging of a fellow author — Tracie Peterson — in 2002, I took the next step in my writing career and joined the American Christian Fiction Writers. I owe all so many there a hearty hug of appreciation for their constant encouragement and unselfish assistance. I feel a lot more confident thanks to their support and love. For those of you who are also fiction writers looking for a wonderful support group, check them out!

I got involved with web design in 1997, when I was asked to take over running the official web site for the television series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. That eventually led to a series of negotiations where I was offered the job of running world-renowned actress Jane Seymour’s official fan site. That has branched into doing web sites for a variety of clients, including: authors J.M. Hochstetler, Trish Perry, Kathy Pride, Louise M. Gouge, Susan Page Davis, and Jill Elizabeth Nelson, actor William Shockley (the voice of AT&T and Sony) and many others. With the help of a handful of other web site “technos,” Eagle Designs was born! Feel free to visit and see our other clients.

Books are a definite passion. Why else would I be writing and publishing them? I firmly believe that a good book can take you away from all of your problems, into a world you’ve never seen. My favorite food is Italian; I sing all the time, and I once worked with my church choir to do a professional recording for a music CD of our performances.

I am in my 30′s, married the love of my life in July 2007, and live in beautiful Colorado, but I love to travel and visit new places. Ultimately, my dream is to own horses and live in a one-level rancher nestled in the mountains. For now, I will remain where I am and do what I love—design web sites and write.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Raelene Strattford knows God has promised never to leave or forsake her. But after the catastrophic deaths of her parents, she doesn t believe it. What kind of God would take a girl’s family and leave her alone in a wild land where women have no voice? Gustaf Hanssen has admired Raelene from afar for a while, but his poor attempt at courting her in the past has made him unwelcome in her life. When Gustaf promises Raelene’s dying father that he will take care of her, he finds himself bound to her happiness, her success, and her well-being in ways he never imagined. To keep his word must Gustaf really oversee all of Raelene’s affairs, find her a husband, and maintain her farm, while she does nothing but scorn him? Can God reach through Raelene’s pain and self-centeredness and give her the love that awaits, if only she will accept His will?

Time

Posted by Vicki on Jul 14, 2008

Time seems to keep slipping away from me…I’m having trouble getting all my work done, let alone time for personal entries.

Things are going pretty well I suppose. We’ve been kept busy with errands here and there…School is going well.

Things with the girl’s father aren’t going so well….can’t say that it’s unexpected, but I did have hopes, and I know the girls had hopes as well. For the first couple of weeks all was well, but than he stopped calling the girls, and when the girls called, he never answered the phone, or called them back, after they left a message. And so…the girls have pretty much lost interest in calling. 4th of July we went up to a big family gathering of that side of the family. The girls’ father showed up, but didn’t stay long…didn’t do anything with the girls, and left without saying goodbye…I was very disappointed, and so were the girls. Such is life though…He was always a father of convience, and it never seemed to be convienent. It is sad to say, and sadder still to know that hasn’t changed.

However the girls and I are a team, and stick together, good times and bad, so I have no doubts that they will come through the disappointment of their father’s lack of interest with flying colors. I have raised strong girls, a strong family…and that’s exactly what the three of us are…a family.

Patio Furniture

Posted by Vicki on Jul 14, 2008

Do tell, what is the difference between a patio and a porch, or a deck?? I’ve heard of deck furniture, and patio furniture, but what about porch furniture? Are they not all basically the same thing?? What happens if you put deck furniture on your patio? Is that a decorating taboo or something?

I figured I might as well ask, because someday….yes, another one of my famous “somedays”…someday I will have a deck, or a patio, or some such thing!!

generic Phentermine

Posted by Vicki on Jul 14, 2008

I’m a big fan of generic brands when I have to get medicines, because of the price difference. However I’m not a big fan of all the stuff you see on the internet, and spam emails about how you can get generic Phentermine and other medicines/drugs without prescriptions. The whole idea behind needing a prescription is so that you really need that particular medicine, and can’t just get it to sell to others or to use it for other purposes other than what it is intended.

Briggs and Riley

Posted by Vicki on Jul 14, 2008

Working for the law firm of Briggs and Riley had been her goal, her dream for years…after all, her father had been owner, and senior partner for most of her life. However these days, her job just wasn’t what she wanted any more….surely there was more to life than work, and that seemed to be all that filled her days, and her nights…but what did she want?

MP3 Players

Posted by Vicki on Jul 14, 2008

I’m not very good at all the electronic things these days….I really have no idea what MP3 players are, or if they are anything like Ipods. My only experience with Ipods came from when I was working with mentally challenged people, because several of the people had Ipods. I would like to get an Ipod for Des though….she loves music so much, that I’d like to be able to let her take her music anywhere with her…my only concern would be is she really old enough to take care of something like that.

DNA testing

Posted by Vicki on Jul 14, 2008

Well I can’t say that I’ve put a lot of thought into DNA testing, although at times I think I need to get my kids tested, because at times I think that there is no way that they have the same DNA as I do…*LOL* Yes that is a joke!!! They are my kids, my angels, my life, my heart, my soul, my reason for being.

Fish Food

Posted by Vicki on Jul 14, 2008

Different food for different fish…kind of like people huh? I know that I, as a person don’t like the same food as other people….Take seafood for example, I can’t stand seafood, and yet my oldest daughter can’t get enough shrimp!!

In any case, back to my fish food subject. This, http://www.aquariumguys.com/fish-food.html website has lots of different kinds of fish food, for all different kinds of fish..It is amazing to me how many different kinds of fish food there are, but on the other hand, I guess the reason is because there are probably millions, or at least thousands of different kinds of fish in the world.

Not only does that website have LOTS of different kinds of fish food, but they also have what seems to be, every imaginable thing that you would ever need for aquariums! Fish food, filters, fish feeders, books, backgrounds, pumps, stones, and so many other things…You just HAVE to go check them out, if you are interested in fish and aquariums!!

Elliptical

Posted by Vicki on Jul 8, 2008

A hard day at the office, but now she was home, in her quiet haven….well it would be quiet if it weren’t for the two children running through the house playing and hollering, but that was music to her ears. She didn’t have to think or look at ellipticals anymore…at least not until tomorrow. Now she could relax, and enjoy her evening with her kids.
