Overlooked Orchid

Can’t say how long this entry will be, but I know that I am long overdue on getting a personal entry in here.

It’s been a really busy week, and on review it seems that it has been a really busy month, but I can’t say exactly what we’ve been doing.

Things with the girls’ father are nothing more than I expected. The girls call him occasionally, when they think of it, but it’s not a driving need to stay in contact, more like a passing thought. He never calls them. He never comes to see them. We do go see him, but not often. We went out a week ago or so, and that was the first time in over a month. In any case, he really shows no interest in what they’ve been doing, or plans that we might have. He’s known for months that the girls wanted to be in soccer this year, and has yet to ask if I have gotten them signed up. And when I mentioned that I was going to sign them up, he sure didn’t offer to help with the signup cost, or the cost of cleats and stuff that they need. I will say this for him, the last time we were out there, he played with the girls for a little while, and they had lots of fun!! I just wish that if he was going to pay attention to them, it would be for more than an hour every couple of months.

It is sad to say, but the girls already know they can’t count on him. Des’s birthday is coming up, but he has made no mention of it….Neither I, nor Desi are looking for expensive gifts, but you would think that since this is the first birthday in 7 years that he’s been around for, that he would be asking me about a party or some such thing.

With soccer coming up, it’s not Father they are wanting to come to the games, it’s Nana…which will please Nana to no end, but I was not expecting that. I truly hope that Nana can make it to acouple of their games, as I know it would make the girls happy. But even if she can’t, because of working, the girls will know, will feel that she wanted to be there. Plus, they always have good old reliable Mom!!
