Caribbean Cruises
Posted by Vicki on Nov 16, 2008
Caribbean cruises are about the last thing on my mind lately. I dream of traveling the world, and have many places that I’d like to visit, many things that I’d like to do, but I’m not sure if I would ever be comfortable spending the money to travel the world. There are so many other things that the money could be used for, more worthy than traveling the world I think. As we speak, there are millions of people that are homeless, starving, and wondering when and where their next meal is coming from. As much as I dream of traveling the world, maybe I’ll just cut down my list of places to visit, and donate some of that money to worthy causes.
Change-SS

I have to laugh at the timing of this Sunday Scribbling! My life has been full of nothing but changes lately. The most recent happening yesturday when my right arm was put in a cast.
For those of you that don’t know, my girls and I were in a car accident a month ago, and I had a wrist injury. Well, they thought it was sprained, than they decided that it was fractured, and than as I continued to have problems with it, they took it out of a brace, and put it in a cast. So I’m to be in a cast for the next 4 weeks, and then they are going to xray it again, and go from there.
Have you ever had to change from being right handed to doing almost everything with your left hand? Have you ever been a proficient touch typist, but than can’t do that, because one of your arms is pretty well out of commision? Have you ever been the independent type, but not must rely on others for help, because you can’t do certain things yourself?? It’s hard!!!
Small Business

It seemed like the perfect solution. This small business for sale, the timing, needing to be back here at home, to re-establish a relationship with her father, it all seemed to be working out perfectly, but than, that’s what God did for you. When He decides something, He works it out for you.
Wow, she got giddy at the thought of finally opening her own business. It was a dream come true! Or should she say a “prayer come true”.
One Holy Night

Just in time for the Christmas season, this book is an engaging modern times miricle story! Quite well written, and gripping. It made me happy, and sad, disgusted by the actions of some of the charactors, it was a good book!! I wish certain things could have ended on a happier note, but than, not all of life ends happily.

ABOUT THE BOOK
In 1967 the military build-up in Viet Nam is undergoing a dramatic surge. The resulting explosion of anti-war sentiment tears the country apart, slicing through generations and shattering families. In the quiet bedroom community of Shepherdsville, Minnesota, the war comes home to Frank and Maggie McRae, whose only son, Mike, is serving as a grunt in Viet Nam.
Frank despises all Asians because of what he witnessed as a young soldier fighting the Japanese in the south Pacific during WWII. The news that his son has fallen in love with and married Thi Nhuong, a young Vietnamese woman, shocks him. To Frank all Asians are enemies of his country, his family, and himself. A Buddhist, Thi Nhuong represents everything he despises. So he cuts Mike out of his life despite the pleas of his wife, Maggie; daughter, Julie; and Julie s husband, Dan, the pastor of a growing congregation.
Maggie is fighting her own battle–against cancer. Convinced that God is going to heal her, Frank plays the part of a model Christian. Her death on Thanksgiving Day devastates him. Worse, as they arrive home from the gravesite, the family receives news of Mike s death in battle. Embittered, Frank stops attending church and cuts off family and friends.
By the time a very pregnant Thi Nhuong arrives on his doorstep on a stormy Christmas Eve, Frank is so filled with hate that he slams the door in her face, shutting her out in the bitter cold. Finally, overcome by guilt, he tries to go after her, but driving wind and snow force him back inside. With the storm rising to blizzard strength, he confronts the wrenching truth that what hate has driven him to do is as evil as what the Japanese did all those years earlier, and that he needs forgiveness as desperately as they did …
Frank doesn’t know that what God has in mind this night is a miracle. As on that holy night so many years ago, a baby will be born and laid in a manger–a baby who will bring forgiveness, reconciliation, and healing to a family that has suffered heart-wrenching loss.

Xbox 360
Posted by Vicki on Nov 13, 2008
The xbox 360 lay on the entertainment center, under what seemed to be a mound of dust. The black tv screen did not appear to be black, because of all the dust that covered it. It was quite apparent that this family did not do a lot with their electronics. You could not tell the last time the tv had been turned on, or the last time the xbox had been played. You could however tell that the legos were played with often, as at this moment a lego castle took up a fair portion of the livingroom floor, and not a bit of dust was covering it. You could tell that board games were played with in this house, because there was a pile of them on the coffee table, with not a bit of dust on them.
Shopwiki

As far as gaming systems go the Xbox 360 is the cream of the crop, or at least it was the last I heard. I’m not into gaming systems much, so these links from Shopwiki for Buying Guides are pretty helpful.
Shopwiki is an encyclopedia for shopping websites. The websites do not pay to be on the Shopwiki site. You can find anything that is for sale on the internet through the Shopwiki website. Which makes it perfect for those of us that like to comparison shop.
The newer games for these systems don’t interest me much. Give me good old Tetris or the original Sim City anyday! These ones about blood and guts, shootings and wars just don’t captivate my attention. I’m not into sports either, so don’t even mention all the silly football games, or basketball, or wrestling games either. I like games that require skill, imagination, and good hand-eye coordination.
Orovo
Posted by Vicki on Nov 12, 2008
Orovo was in trouble again, and he knew it! He hung his head, tucked his tail, and gazed up at his owner with sad eyes.
“Oh you pain! Shame on you! We had an agreement that you would stay out of the trash.” She said “Don’t you remember? Well, out you go, while I clean up your mess!”
Orovo got up and slinked his way out the door without another word from her. He was a good dog, with the exception of liking to get into the trash. It was annoying, but a small price to pay for the companionship that he offered her, not to mention not too many other people would bother to keep Orovo, because of his health condition.

Promotional Products
Posted by Vicki on Nov 7, 2008
Most of what was in this house was promotional products from one company or another…After all, companies were generous if they knew who you were, and everyone knew her name, or at least one of her names, one of her faces.
She was startled when her cellphone rang…Yep, definitely time for a vacation, she was getting entirely too jumpy for her line of work.
“Hello” she said as she flipped the phone open.
“Hello my Sweet. Care to tell me where the chip is?” A smooth silky voice said.
She laughed “Sorry to disappoint you, but if you haven’t found it yet, I’m not helping.”
“You’ll be sorry” the voice said as he hung up.
