Motorcycle Accident Attorneys
Posted by Vicki on Dec 14, 2008
The motorcycle accident attorneys had professed to be able to “get him the money he deserved”, however they hadn’t. Now he was broke, and broken, in body, spirit, and checkbook. He shook his head, and wondered to himself what he was going to do. He couldn’t work, he didn’t have any settlement money from the accident, and getting approved for disability was still months away. He gazed over at his Bible, long since covered with dust.
LCD Monitor
Posted by Vicki on Dec 14, 2008
The lcd monitor sat before her blank, as if daring her to type something. She shoved back her chair and stood, frustrated with herself. The story was there, at the edges of her mind, but she just couldn’t seem to put it to form on the screen. It was there, she knew it was there, she could see it, imagine it, and yet just couldn’t seem to type it.
It was time for plan B. Good old fashioned writing. That was always her standby if she encountered writer’s block on the computer. Sometimes the words flowed better from her hands into a pencil.
Digital Signage

Your “everything behind the screens” solution source.
Deliver eye-catching, relevant content that gets results with the latest in digital signage. *sigh* It was a relief to finally be done with that project, and to be able to move onto something else. In truth, the only thing she wanted to move on to, was a vacation! These last months of working so hard on the digital signage campaign had exhausted her, and drained her of her life, her vitality.
Engaging Father Christmas
Posted by Vicki on Dec 10, 2008
An interesting book, but I did not think that it was nearly as grabbing as some of the other works of this author. I remember as a pre-teen and teenager being crazy over her Christy Miller series, and her Sierra Jenson books were okay as well. That was years ago, and yet I still remember parts of those books, even though I haven’t read them for probably 15 years! This book, well, I read it acouple of weeks ago, and can’t say that I remember much of anything about it!
I am thrilled however to see that Mrs Gunn continues on as a writer, and would like, if she ever got around to this blog, to know how much I did enjoy her books during my teen years, and that I plan to buy the Christy Miller series, and perhaps the Sierra Jenson series for my girls.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Miranda Carson can’t wait to return to England for Christmas and to be with her boyfriend, Ian. She has spent a lifetime yearning for a place to call home, and she’s sure Carlton Heath will be it, especially when a hinted-at engagement ring slips into the conversation.
But Miranda’s high hopes for a jolly Christmas with the small circle of people she has come to love are toppled when Ian’s father is hospitalized and the matriarch of the Whitcombe family withholds her blessing from Miranda. Questions run rampant in Miranda’s mind about whether she really belongs in this cheery corner of the world. Then, when her true identity threatens all her relationships in unanticipated ways, Miranda is certain all is lost.
And yet…maybe Father Christmas has special gifts in store for her after all.

Quills and Promises

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Hi, I’m Amber, but my friends call me Tiff, short for Tiffany, my first name. I am in my 30′s, married the love of my life in July 2007, and live in beautiful Colorado just east of the Front Range of the Rockies, but I love to travel and visit new places. Ultimately, my dream is to own horses and live in a one-level rancher or log cabin nestled in the foothills of the mountains. For now, I will remain where I am and do what I love—design web sites and write.
Amber’s very first book, Promises, Promises, released in February 2008. It’s a historical fiction set in Delaware during the Colonial period and the Great Awakening. The other 2 books in the series are this current one, Quills And Promises (July 2008) and Deceptive Promises (December 2008). In 2009, they will be repackaged for a state set entitled Delaware Brides. She has also sold another series set in historical Michigan during the Industrial Revolution. The 3 books in that series will begin releasing in May 2009 and will be repackaged in 2010 as Michigan Brides.
ABOUT THE BOOK
– Separated from Madison when he leaves to fight the French and Indians, Elanna Hanssen must choose between her heart and her head, especially when Madison’s integrity is questioned. —
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not until thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” ~Proverbs 3:5-6
Innocence paired with wisdom beyond her years. With these traits, Elanna Hanssen unwittingly captures the attentions of Major Madison Scott. Her honest desire to understand the war fascinates him, and he resolves to get to know this perspicacious young lady better. When his military duty separates them, they begin a correspondence, cautiously baring their hearts to each other. Elanna has never known emotions like this before, but she is drawn to the integrity she sees in her major. Wh a local news reporter questions the major’s credentials and activities, however, will she allow her heart or her head to rule? Can true love grow over such distance and around such obstacles?

Moving Along
Posted by Vicki on Dec 5, 2008
Well 5 work posts under my belt, a transcript done to go over before I submit it to the college to be graded, the girls got dishes done, and part of the laundry folded. I got all the laundry washed. We are moving along pretty well tonight. I still have a quiz to go take, and had actually forgotten about it until I started typing this post. I need to read to the girls, but that isn’t work at all. I guess, other than that quiz, that the only work to be done is to clean the litterpan area, which won’t take long.
School is progressing along just as well. Handwriting is becoming a focus point for us, as Des only writes nicely when she wants to, and not when she NEEDS to, and Meg just needs a lot more practice under her belt. As with most things she is blooming late in the coordination factor of handwriting…but while I am not a severe grader, with Meg, when it comes to handwriting, I do think it important that she put in the time on it. Plus since we have started writing Bible verses, it serves several purposes for them to do handwriting assignments. Bible study has become the highlight of our school day, with all the interest and questions that the girls are coming up with. We also enjoy our story time, and are currently reading The Secret Garden. Math is progressing well, although I don’t have too many details on that. We are still working with flash cards, our school papers, as well as doing more cooking/measuring things. They are both doing exceptionally well in their reading assignments. Des finished the health book, and asked to read it again, who am I to say no. After she finishes it this time though, I will have her move on to the next grade’s health book so she can learn new things and not get bored with it. She also started the history book that was too advanced for her reading level a few months ago. Meg is doing well with her reading as well. I can see her reading level advancing almost daily.
Well I guess that’s enough for tonight, at least with this blog. *LOL* I have several more entries to do on the other blogs, but am not sure that they will get done tonight or not. First things first, the quiz.
Material Handling
Posted by Vicki on Dec 5, 2008
Wow, talk about some strange keywords and phrases! I’m a big fan of journal prompts that just give a word, or a short phrase, like material handling, and than you are free to use that word or phrase in whatever way you see fit. Some of what people come up with is not only inventive, but creative and unique, much more so than what I come up with most of the time.
Diet Pills
Posted by Vicki on Dec 5, 2008
Well as often as I have thought that diet pills were what I needed, what I wanted, I have never taken the actual plunge into using them. I’m not saying they wrong, or that they are all bad, because I don’t know…I haven’t researched them enough to find out…but what I do know is that God gave us the body we have, and we should take care of it in the best way that we can, and I don’t believe that means using pills to accomplish something that IMO would be better accomplished by taking a walk everyday, or something as simple as walking when you talk on the phone, or parking at the far end of the parking lot. You would be amazed at how much exercise you can get by following those simple suggestions!!
Diamond Rings
Posted by Vicki on Dec 5, 2008
I have to laugh as I think of a conversation that went on earlier today, with my 7-year-old daughter. She was telling me what she would do if some guy came to the door, when she was all grown up, and asked her to marry him. *LOL* She said that she would marry him, maybe, but first they have to date for a REEEEEEAAAAAALLLY long time, and that Mommy had to think that he was a nice guy. She also said she would tell him that he didn’t have to get her diamond rings, but that a simple ring was more ladylike.
It was hilarious!!
Healthy Cooking
Posted by Vicki on Dec 5, 2008
I can’t say that I was raised with a huge awareness of healthy eating or healthy cooking, but I was never totally ignorant on the subject either. As the years have passed I can’t really say that I have improved my eating habits a lot, but than I can’t say they were all that bad to begin with. Oh, I know I could cut out some of the sweets I eat, like my sudden hankering for peanut butter M&M’s, or the cheesecake I have sitting in my cubboard waiting for me to make. On the other hand I can’t say that I really eat a lot of sweets all the time, except for my soda intake, I’d actually say that I have a fairly healthy diet.
