Diet Supplements

Where oh where did she leave her bottle of diet supplements? She’d already searched her bathroom, and her bedroom, and was working on searching the kitchen to no avail. Surely they couldn’t have just up and disappeared, then again, in this house, who knows what could happen. *LOL*..It wasn’t really a big deal, she had another bottle in the car for the times when she was away from home. She liked to travel, so tried to always be prepared.

Taking Tuscany

This book was delightful, and I am especially interested in reading the next one in the series! This was a real life book, meaning that even I, as an adult, found things in this book that I can relate to. This will be a book that I keep, and encourage my girls to read as well, when they are a bit older.

ABOUT THE BOOK
A. J. Degulio loved the idea of a visit to the Old Country… until her family decided to stay. It’s 1972 and she’s turning fourteen in a crumbling castle on a hill in Tuscany, wishing she were back in Idaho with her beloved dog, Sailor. In Italy, her blonde hair makes her stick out like a vanilla wafer in a box of chocolate biscotti, and she’s so lonely her best friend is a nun from the local convent.
The challenges of roots and relatives are nothing new to A. J., but she’s going to need more than the famous Degulio sense of humor to survive. Can’t anyone see that Italy isn’t really home? It will take a catastrophe – and a few wise words from a friend – for A. J. to understand that sometimes the only thing you can change is your perspective.

Busy Busy

Have been busy with my book reviews, added to that the housecleaning, schooling the girls, job hunting, and all the other things that single parenting life requires. I can’t say how much I have truly enjoyed doing the book reviews. I love reading so much, and the book reviews give me a reason, a purpose for my reading. I have slowed down on them a bit though, was getting too many books to read and review and not enough time to do it all.
Blogging time has slowed down too. There was a time that I would do an entry almost every day, but time just doesn’t allow for that these days, plus I’ve really been struggling with what to say, and what not to say. Some things you just don’t want to discuss on a public blog for the whole world to see.
Things are still incredibly hard. Haven’t found a job, though I keep looking and praying. I wanted to work at home, still do want to work at home, but that just doesn’t seem possible at this time. It hurts to know that all the time and money that I put into the medical transcriptioning all seems to be a waste, because I have not found one single job in that field that is interested in a recent grad, without real experience.
Well anyway, still have some other work to finish up. Take care everyone!!
Social Security Disability
Posted by Vicki on May 5, 2009
I’ve known friends and family members that have gone through the process of trying to get social security disability, most of which unsuccessful, which is a sad thing, because in reality there were few to no jobs that they could actually do.
There are lawyers and such that can help you with your disability case, but sometimes that can be expensive, and not an option for some people. I wish it were easier, for the people that truly need disability. Seems strange that there are people that have disability, that really don’t need it, but people that really do need it, can’t get it.
