I’ve been seeing quite a bit of wildlife these days, on my drives back and forth to the school. Lots of deer. Came close to hitting one this morning. A herd of 5 or 6 came running out of no-where, all but one stopped at the edge of the road as I was driving by, but one didn’t. Came probably within a foot of hitting her. I am forever thankful that I didn’t, she was able to move quick enough as I slowed down.

Yesterday a deer and a buck crossed the road at their own leisurely pace. I was able to see them well before hitting them, so I had time to stop and let them pass, but I was scared to death that a car from the other direction would come up over the hill and hit them. Thankfully it didn’t so the deer passed safely.

For about the last 3 days I’ve seen a coyote on my way to pick up the girls. He/she is pretty good about getting out of the road long before I am close enough to hit it, but I am always fearful that someone won’t be as careful as I am, and will hit it one of these days.

I hate to see the animals hit, and killed. That’s what people progress has done. The animals are not the intruders on this land, we the people are. And with every passing year I see more and more animals dead along the roads because people are in too much of a hurry to care that they might hit a deer, or coyote.

Sometimes it is unavoidable. I know that, and don’t dispute that, but I also know that if people took more care in their driving that more animals would live.

Hmm, can’t really say that I know anything about the best appetite suppressants on the market. However I know if you are a waitress or a cook….day after day of staring at food is kind of a suppressant in itself. I rarely wanted to eat much, back when I was a waitress.

Another suppressant is when you know that you have only enough food for your kids. Kind of makes your hunger disappear real quick. Been there done that before. It’s not fun, but it is life. Things are better now, so I don’t have to think of things like that, but it’s not a bad thing to remember from time to time. It tends to make you doubly thankful for what you have now.

I do not have one, can’t say I’ve ever even seen a movie played on any Bluray dvd players, all I get are the advertisements about them. How much better they are supposed to be, compared to regular old DVD players. I think I remember hearing that the disks are supposed to be more durable, and less easily damaged, and that would be great in my opinion. However I can’t really think of any other features that I’ve heard about that would cause me to go out and buy one, not at this point anyway.

Working for the st thomas hotels was a dream come true for her. She loved the hotel industry, with all the details to work out, and the blending of people that she saw and interacted with on a daily basis. All people had their “thing” and people were her “thing”. She took pride in her work, and more than anything she loved talking to, and getting to know the guests at what she considered “her hotel”. It wasn’t really hers, she didn’t own it, would probably never be rich enough to own something so nice as the St Thomas Hotels, but she worked there, lived there, and loved the people there, so it was “hers”.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Cleo Arlington dresses like a cowboy, is fearless and fun-loving, and can ride, rope, and wrangle a horse as well as any man. In 1916, however, those talents aren’t what most young women aspire to. But Cleo isn’t most women. Twenty-nine years old and single, Cleo loves life on her father’s Idaho ranch. Still, she hopes someday to marry and have children.

Enter Sherwood Statham, an English aristocrat whose father has sentenced him to a year of work in America to “straighten him out.” Sherwood, who expected a desk job at a posh spa, isn’t happy to be stuck on an Idaho ranch. And he has no idea how to handle Cleo, who’s been challenged with transforming this uptight playboy into a down-home cowboy, because he has never encountered a woman succeeding in a “man’s world.”

Just about everything either of them says or does leaves the other, well, fit to be tied. Cleo Arlington knows everything about horses but nothing about men. And though Cleo believes God’s plan for her includes a husband, it couldn’t possibly be Sherwood Statham. Could it?

Their bumpy trot into romance is frustrating, exhilarating, and ultimately heartwarming.

At this point I’d be happy with manufactured homes, a actual house, or a heated barn with an outhouse, if it was my own!! Living where we are, even though it’s only been about a week has been difficult. It’s not the small space, although a little more room would be nice, it’s more that we don’t have what we want around us. Our cats aren’t even in our place with us, but in a storage room, and it’s lonely without them, but that’s the way it has to be for right now, I understand that, I just hope and pray that it is but a moment in time, and that we will be back where we want to be.

I like shopping, I truly do, when I have the money to shop without having to skimp on things, but I’ve never been a fan of shopping busy days, like weekends, or Black Friday, or right after Christmas. That’s when I like things like Cyber Monday. The only thing I don’t like about shopping online is sizing stuff. I almost never buy clothing, or shoes online because all the companies always seem to have their own sizing, but I’m happy buying just about anything else online!

Losing weight has been something I’ve been working on off and on my entire life kind of. I was never the rail thin beauties that I saw around me. I was always bigger than that, it took a lot of time for me to see that I would never be a rail thin beauty, as my body just wasn’t made in the right shape to be rail thin. Now I’m not sorry that I won’t be rail thin, as I have finally come to terms with my body shape. However I am happy to say that over the last year I have lost 30 pounds!!! I still wouldn’t mind losing another 10 to 20 pounds. I have come this far without the aid of weight loss pills, and will continue to exercise and try to watch what I eat a little bit.

On and on I see newspaper ads, television commercials, and all sorts of other advertisements on the best eye creams. Looking nice, and young, taking care of yourself is important to me, truly it is, but seriously, should it consume so much of your thoughts that you don’t remember to laugh, or to enjoy the peaceful moments. Sometimes it seems that’s the way people are around me. So busy with trying to stay young, that they forget to enjoy life.
