I find it hilarious that when you don’t even own a car that you get a million and one adverstisments for auto insurance quotes. This happened before I even got my driver’s license, and several times over the years when I didn’t even own a car. Why would you need quotes for auto insurance when you don’t even own a car? *LOL* In a few more months I will once again be on the lookout for a vehicle, at that time I will need insurance, but not now.

I suppose with the holidays and all the big meals in the last few months a lot of people will be looking for the best weight loss supplements. I can’t say that the idea hasn’t crossed my mind, but I’m basically just holding out until Spring, and when we move again. When we move again I will be a lot more active than I currently am now, and then come spring and summer, I’ll be spending loads of time outside with the girls, and working with Chief. Dad and I have hopes of getting him broke this year, Dad isn’t sure it will happen, because of him working so much, but I’m going to try really hard to get him broke.

Dad and I have been talking, dreaming of how we would remodel the house if we are able to buy it back. We have talked of redoing a couple of the bedrooms, a few changes in the bathroom, but I think the room that was getting the most redone on it was the kitchen. I would like the cabinets sanded down and repainted, and also refitted so that the drawers and doors shut properly. I would like a new countertop, and a new backsplash. I was thinking perhaps of using metal tiles for that, but have not decided.

One of my most favorite things about Christmas is the outdoor lighting. I have always loved looking at the Christmas lights and decorations. I find it very sad that so many houses aren’t decorating anymore. I have to admitt that I have never decorated outside, because of lack of money to buy the stuff for outside. I have always admired the snowmen, and penguins and such that are for outside, and I hope that perhaps next year I can afford to start my outdoor decorating.

*LOL* I can’t help but wonder if fat burners wouldn’t be a good idea at this point. After the inactivity of the winter, and living where I am at this point, added in with the holiday meals I am pretty sure that I am adding on some weight. I hate it, as I was finally losing the weight that I wanted to lose, and now I feel myself gaining again. I suppose it can’t be helped at this point.

Outer Banks rentals was her family legacy I guess you could say. Her mother had handled most of the rental business, and her father had done the maintainence and worked in his shop creating some of the most beautiful furniture she had ever seen. All of the rentals had been outfitted with creations made by her father, tables, mantels, even bed frames. Her childhood had been an interesting one.

The gun rack was a work of art with the rackmounts done with care and precision. It was her father’s work, that she could tell without even looking for his signiture on the piece. She had spent much of her childhood hours with him in his shop, watching him craft pieces like this. Spent many hours talking to him while he worked. Oh how she missed those days of simplicity.

Well here it is after Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and soon we will be passing New Year’s and finally have all of the Holidays behind us. I generally love Holidays, but I can’t say that I love what the big, yummy meals do for my waist-line. I mean it’s not like I have a treadmill handy at the moment. I suppose I could go into town and go to the Rec Center, but I’m trying my best to save on gas money. It’s been too cold and snowy to do much outside, so I guess my waistline grows until spring.

One of these days I will get around to doing an online backup of some of my programs. Things have been so busy lately I haven’t even really thought about getting it done. I have gotten my laptop back in working order. There is still something wrong with the screen, but at least the programming seems to be working right. I don’t have internet on it most of the time, because for some reason it is not detecting wi-fi connections, but am sure that is just a setting that I should change, but that I can’t seem to find. One of these days I’ll take it up to Best Buy or something so that they can have a look at the screen and fix my wi-fi issues.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

I’ve always loved reading, history, and horses. These things come together in several of my historical books. My young adult novel, Sarah’s Long Ride, also spotlights horses and the rugged sport of endurance riding, as does the contemporary romance Trail to Justice. I took a vocational course in horseshoeing after earning a bachelor’s degree in history. I don’t shoe horses anymore, but the experience has come in handy in writing my books.

Another longtime hobby of mine is genealogy, which has led me down many fascinating paths. I’m proud to be a DAR member! Some of Jim’s and my quirkier ancestors have inspired fictional characters

For many years I worked for the Central Maine Morning Sentinel as a freelancer, covering local government, school board meetings, business news, fires, auto accidents, and other local events, including a murder trial. I’ve also written many profiles and features for the newspaper and its special sections. This experience was a great help in developing fictional characters and writing realistic scenes. I also published nonfiction articles in several magazines and had several short stories appear in Woman’s World, Grit, and Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine.

My husband, Jim, and I moved to his birth state, Oregon, for a while after we were married, but decided to move back to Maine and be near my family. We’re so glad we did. It allowed our six children to grow up feeling close to their cousins and grandparents, and some of Jim’s family have even moved to Maine!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Gert Dooley can shoot the tail feathers off a jay at a hundred yards, but she wants Ethan Chapman to see she’s more than a crack shot with a firearm. When the sheriff of Fergus, Idaho, is murdered and Ethan is named his replacement, Gert decides she has to do whatever she can to help him protect the citizenry. So she starts the Ladies Shooting Club. But when one of their numbers is murdered, these ladies are called on for more than target shooting and praying. Can Gert and the ladies of Fergus find the murderer before he strikes again?
