by

Christina Berry

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Single mother and foster parent, Christina Berry carves time to write from her busy schedule because she must tell the stories that haunt her every waking moment. (Such is the overly dramatic description of an author’s life!) She holds a BA in Literature, yet loves a good Calculus problem, as well. All that confusion must have influenced her decision to be team captain of a winning team on Family Feud.

Her debut novel, The Familiar Stranger, released from Moody in September and deals with lies, secrets, and themes of forgiveness in a troubled marriage. A moving speaker and dynamic teacher, Christina strives to Live Transparently–Forgive Extravagantly!

Her work has also appeared in The Secret Place, The Oregonian, and Daily Devotions for Writers.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Craig Littleton’s decision to end his marriage would shock his wife, Denise . . . if she knew what he was up to. When an accident lands Craig in the ICU, with fuzzy memories of his own life and plans, Denise rushes to his side, ready to care for him.

They embark on a quest to help Craig remember who he is and, in the process, they discover dark secrets. An affair? An emptied bank account? A hidden identity? An illegitimate child?

But what will she do when she realizes he’s not the man she thought he was? Is this trauma a blessing in disguise, a chance for a fresh start? Or will his secrets destroy the life they built together?

The Christmas Lamp

Zondervan (October 1, 2009)

by

Lori Copeland

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Lori Copeland has been writing for twenty-five years and has over three million copies of her books in print. She began her writing career in 1982, writing for the secular book market. In 1995, after many years of writing, Lori sensed that God was calling her to use her gift of writing to honor Him. It was at that time that she began writing for the Christian book market.

To date, she has more than 95 books published, including Now and Always, Simple Gifts, Unwrapping Christmas, and Monday Morning Faith, which was a finalist for the 2007 Christy Awards. Lori was inducted into the Springfield Writers Hall of Fame in 2000.

Lori lives in the beautiful Ozarks with her husband Lance. They have three sons, two daughter-in-laws, and five wonderful grandchildren. Lori and Lance are very involved in their church, and active in supporting mission work in Mali, West Africa.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Christmas trees, twinkling lights, skating in the park, and holiday displays are the hallmark elements for celebrating Jesus birth for the sentimental residents of Nativity, Missouri. Will fiscal responsibility replace Christmas their traditions when times are tough? Though their priorities and methods clash, Roni Elliot and Jake Brisco want the same thing, for the town to prosper. As the two get to know each other better, each begins to gain a new perspective on what the real wealth of Nativity and the season might be.

Moving On

Posted by Vicki on Dec 7, 2009

Well despite how slow time goes sometimes, or how messed up things in life are at that moment, things continue to move on. Finally got the cellphone situation straightened out today, for which I’m thankful, especially since the bill should only be about half of what it has been lately. Although I am thinking about having the internet hooked back up to my computer, so that I can have my own private internet at home. Doing that would raise the bill back up a bit, but should still be managable. I will talk to Dad before I decide for sure.

St Lucia

Posted by Vicki on Dec 7, 2009

I’m tired today, my tummy hurts, my back hurts, and well yes, I’m a bit whiny. I’m at the library right now, as getting on the internet at home for more than 5 minutes is not happening right now. What I really need is a vacation….So I picked up some books and movies while here at the library and will take my vacation through my books and find some relaxation through the movies. One of the books is a romance set in st lucia, so it should be a goody.

Fat Burner Pills

Posted by Vicki on Dec 7, 2009

If I don’t get the chance to get out and start doing some work outside, or having a big house to clean I’m going to need some of those fat burner pills. Sitting around in that small trailer is about to drive me crazy, as well as probably adding the pounds back on that I’ve tried so hard to shed.

God, a little help here wouldn’t hurt!!

New Tuxedo

Posted by Vicki on Dec 7, 2009

I often think what it would be like to have an actual wedding. I never had that when I was married. We just went to the judge and let him marry us, no ceremony or family present or anything like that. So much for my childhood fairytale dreams.

If I was to get married again, I would want an actual wedding this time around. I wouldn’t care if my husband-to-be wore a new tuxedo or just some nice clothes, but I would want a wedding dress, although nothing particularly fancy, and while I wouldn’t want a big wedding, I would want my Dad to walk me down the isle, and to have my friends and family present.

Thanksgiving

Posted by Vicki on Dec 1, 2009

Thanksgiving was a quiet day. We had our dinner on Friday, since that was my sister’s b/f’s day off. Dinner was good, ham with all the usual goodies.

A friend of Bob’s came over for dinner, and brought an apple cheesecake that he had made himself. I was quite impressed to find a man that would make something like that, as well as in heaven as I love cheesecake. *LOL*

Overall it was an enjoyable day, although we had a few rough patches, but such is life when living with or close to other people.

Samsonite Luggage

Posted by Vicki on Dec 1, 2009

You all know me, I’m the queen of window shopping. I love looking online, in magazines, and sometimes in stores for things I like. I can’t say that luggage is at the top of my looking list, but I do see some when I’m browsing through catalogs that I like. I think Samsonite luggage has the best look to them, and with colors that I like. Silly I know to want colorful luggage, but I can’t help it.

Plastic Knobs

Posted by Vicki on Dec 1, 2009

I often wonder what the world was like before some of the modern convienences, like electricity, computers, plastic, and other such things. I mean what would the world be like without plastic knobs, or plastic bottles? A rather puzzling question I think. There was a time when everything was glass or metal, was life easier then, or does plastic make that big of a difference in our lives??
