Safe Diet Pill

Posted by Vicki on Feb 13, 2010

Lots of speculation abounds on safe diet pills. The safest I know of are a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. I believe that to be true for people 1 to 99. *LOL* The level of exercise might vary, the types of foods might vary as well, but it’s still the safest way that I know of to lose those pesky pounds.

Somehow I don’t have much worry when it comes to the girls at this point. They are active enough to eat anything without a worry of gaining weight.

Eczema

Posted by Vicki on Feb 13, 2010

I am forever thankful that the girls’ eczema is not serious. With the right kind of soap for their baths/showers, and lotion from time to time, it is managed well. In the winter they tend to need a bit more lotion, but I have only had to get a special cream acouple of times to manage their outbreaks.

Some of my friends have described horrible outbreaks, which makes me all the more thankful that the girls have mild cases.

Christa Allan

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Christa Allan, a true Southern woman who knows any cook worth her gumbo always starts with a roux and who never wears white after Labor Day, weaves stories of unscripted grace with threads of hope, humor, and heart.

The mother of five and grandmother of three, Christa teaches high school English. She and her husband, Ken live in Abita Springs, Louisiana where they play golf, dodge hurricanes, and anticipate retirement.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Leah Thornton’s life, like her Southern Living home, has great curb appeal. But already sloshed from one-too-many drinks at a faculty party, Leah cruises the supermarket aisles in search of something tasty to enhance her Starbucks—Kahlua and a paralyzing encounter with a can of frozen apple juice shatters the facade, forcing her to admit that all is not as it appears.

When her best friend Molly gets in Leah’s face about her refusal to deal with her life, Leah is forced to make a decision. Can this brand-conscious socialite walk away from the country club into 28 days of rehab? Leah is sitting in the office of the local rehab center facing an admissions counselor who fails to understand the most basic things, like the fact that apple juice is not a suitable cocktail mixer.

Rehab is no picnic, and being forced to experience and deal with the reality of her life isn’t Leah’s idea of fun. Can she leave what she has now to gain back what she needs? Joy, sadness, pain and a new srength converge, testing her marriage, her friendships and her faith.

But through the battle she finds a reservoir of courage she never knew she had, and the loving arms of a God she never quite believed existed.

Bad Bad Me

Posted by Vicki on Feb 5, 2010

A few months ago I started a list of the books that I had read, and then things got busy, and I fell behind on updating it. I am rather disappointed that I fell behind as I really liked keeping track of how many books I had read each month. Here lately I am sure that the numbers would be incredible as I don’t have much else to do but read. NOT that I’m complaining!! Reading is one of my most favorite things to do!! I do miss all of the other things that kept me busy though.

Who knows, maybe I can resurrect my reading list, and give a little insight on what I really enjoy reading!

I’ve been currently reading Fern Michaels. Her Sisterhood series is pretty good, as well as her Kentucky and Las Vegas series.

Fastest Way To Burn Fat

Posted by Vicki on Feb 5, 2010

Now it wouldn’t matter if she knew the fastest way to burn fat, she could do it with regular exercise, instead of the pills, and rigerous dieting. She was sure that she would be much happier in her new life! It would take some getting used to though, not counting every calorie, not living in a big town with everything at hand…it was mind boggling to think of it!

Adult Acne Treatments

Posted by Vicki on Feb 5, 2010

She was finally free. Free of her demanding job, free of her cramped apartment, and free of all she did to make herself look good enough for the work she did. The adult acne treatments, the makeup, the diets, the fitness. Not that any of that was a bad thing necesarily, but she had hated the feeling that if she had gained one pound that it would put her in jeopardy of losing her job.

Moving Soon

Posted by Vicki on Feb 1, 2010

Well I finally got the go-ahead from Dad to find a house for us. *sigh* I only hope and pray that it will be easy to find something that will work for us!!

We have animals, so that makes it a bit harder to find a rental, plus we need a place for Chief, which makes it even more difficult. We have a portable corral and everything, so that simplifies fencing, but still we have to have room to set the corral up, and also it pretty much eliminates in town living.

I am confident that things will work out, that we will find the right place for us…but all prayers are appreciated!!

Xbox Games

Posted by Vicki on Feb 1, 2010

It amazes me how much time children are allowed to play their xbox games or whatever system they have. I am not against having an xbox, or playstation, or whatever, but I do think that kids need to be encouraged to read, play, ride bikes, and be active.

We have a playstation, and if I let them, the girls would play for hours at a time, but even they get bored to playing it, because I have always encouraged them to ride bikes, jump rope, walk, play soccer and baseball…
