Wow

Posted by Vicki on May 28, 2010

I’m sure this post will get lost among my dozens of other posts, but I thought it was time for a bit of an update.

I’m sure you can tell that I have been doing a lot of reading lately, and with that comes posting the book reviews. I can’t really say I’m that good at reviews. I can tell you whether I liked the book or not, and why, but as for an in depth review I never have a clue what to write.

Work has been going really good the last week too. Keeping me hopping, which is what I’m doing tonight…loads and loads of work, but I try to make time to stop in and do a few personal entries too.

Life is crazy busy aside from the book reviews and work too. This whole week coming up I will be running the roads constantly. Speaking of which I just remembered that my planned trip to KC will have to be rescheduled for another time, because of a previous engagement. Guess it’s a good thing that I sat and typed this out, and it made me remember.

So anyway, I’m off to do a book review and as much work as I can get done.

ABOUT THE BOOK

The murder of Krista Carmichael’s fourteen-year-old sister by an online predator has shaken her faith and made her question God’s justice and protection. Desperate to find the killer, she creates an online persona to bait the predator. But when the stalker turns his sights on her, will Krista be able to control the outcome?

Ryan Adkins started the social network GrapeVyne in his college dorm and has grown it into a billion-dollar corporation. But he never expected it to become a stalking ground for online Predators. One of them lives in his town and has killed two girls and attacked a third. When Ryan meets Krista, the murders become more than a news story to him, and everything is on the line.

Joining forces, he and Krista set out to stop the killer. But when hunters pursue a hunter, the tables can easily turn. Only God can protect them now.

Cheap Insurance Quotes

Posted by Vicki on May 12, 2010

I got my insurance bill today. If it keeps going I might be looking into some cheap insurance quotes. For some reason my insurance has gone up $20. I need to go into the insurance office and find out why it has gone up, as nothing has happened in the last 2 months that I know of, for it to go up.

I have always been happy with this company, and I’m sure they can explain why they raised my rates.

UV Pond Filter

Posted by Vicki on May 12, 2010

I never really thought about the fact that uv pond filters would come in all shapes and sizes. I doubt I will ever have use for one, but you knows what the future will hold.

I do like that the UV pond filters help keep the water clear. Also it says that “UV filters are one of the best defenses against floating algae and harmful bacteria”.

Sounds like a good deal to me.

Reducing Belly Fat

Posted by Vicki on May 12, 2010

As with previous posts I will again emphasize exercise as the best way I have found in reducing belly fat. I’m no slim, trim model, and I wouldn’t mind losing a bit more belly, but all in all I’m pretty happy with how I am right now.

It has helped that I have again increased my activity around the house, with all the cleaning that I do on a daily basis. Also I walk about 6 blocks round trip every day to see Chief. It may not seem like a lot to you, but it’s enough to have me losing weight again.

Diet Plans That Work

Posted by Vicki on May 12, 2010

I don’t know the diet plans that work and the ones that don’t work. I can’t even say that I know all of the different plans out there. I do know that exercise is a huge part of what I do to stay moderately thin.

I’ve tried other things before….gone on sugar strikes, but that would only last for a few days. Told myself that I wouldn’t drink any soda, but again that didn’t last. I even said that I would only eat half of my normal portion at mealtimes….but see, when I’m hungry, I tend to eat….so that didn’t work either….

Exercise works for me.

Adult Acne Treatments

Posted by Vicki on May 12, 2010

I am trying to teach the girls good hygiene now so maybe they won’t have to worry about adult acne treatments, dental problems and other things that can occur. Now I know that adult acne, or bad teeth don’t always mean that you don’t take good care of yourself, sometimes it just happens.

My dental problems were all from bad habits or bad hygiene, some was simply bad genes. But the more the girls do to keep themselves healthy, the more it will help prevent problems.

Steel Buildings

Posted by Vicki on May 12, 2010

When we get our own place I’m going to start checking into the different steel buildings available. We would like a shelter for Chief, a place for his hay, and an area for all of our outdoor toys, tools, and miscellaneous things.

Really it wouldn’t necesarily have to be steel, but I can see advantages to steel versus wood.
