Awesome
Posted by Vicki on May 28, 2011
I’m making awesome progress on the fencing project. We finished the second stretch of fence yesterday. Only one more to do, and it’s a short stretch. It is a tangled up mess though, so it’s not going to be a walk in the park, but we’ll manage. Hopefully I can get it done within the next week or so, and then I’ll be completely done!!!
Today I am taking the day off from the fencing project so that I can get my work done here at home, along with some other business that needs taken care of as well.
Book Heaven
Posted by Vicki on Apr 8, 2011
Here recently a lot of my time has been spent going through the curriculum catelogs and websites. Comparing this with that, trying to decide what it is exactly that I want for the girls for next year’s school. It’s been a fun, exciting, and somewhat stressfull event. *LOL* I think I’ve gotten it all figured out though. The girls even had some input on what it is that they would want, which was a piano course and a spanish course. The freedom of homeschooling is awesome. My children don’t have to be in middle or high school to be able to learn a foreign language, and I don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars every month for piano lessons.
Friday
Posted by Vicki on Mar 6, 2011
Friday afternoon Dad and I went to a dinner party type thing. We didn’t really want to go, as neither he or I are much on parties, people, or socializing. It was okay I guess. There weren’t all that many people there, but too many for our comfort. *LOL* We just aren’t into parties and people that much. Dad doesn’t even go to his company Christmas parties. *LOL*
We are the type of people that just prefer to stay home, and relax and enjoy our girls.
A Break
Posted by Vicki on Feb 24, 2011
I’m ready to take a break from working. My mind is in a fog, because I’ve been sitting here for quite awhile doing entries.
There is a new batch of laundry to get folded. I’m thinking about having some lunch, and it won’t be long until it’s time to go pick up the girls.
They are going over to a friend’s house tomorrow after school. It will be odd not having to go and pick them up, but they have been waiting for ages to go, so I don’t mind. They always have fun when they get to go over there.
So anyway, I’m off for now.
Weather
Posted by Vicki on Feb 24, 2011
Today it’s been raining quite a bit, and is rather chilly. It’s kind of annoying, because I’m ready to be outside doing things, but at least it’s better than snow and ice.
It seems with every year that the winter gets longer, and colder. I suppose I’m just wimping out as I develop more aches and pains. I did go out and play with the girls a few times in the snow, and it’s still fun, but I’m glad to see it at an end.
I’m ready to be out playing catch, softball, soccer, and riding bikes with the girls. I’m ready to go down and play with the horse, or simply to sit with him and read to him. *LOL* You’ve never seen a horse that enjoys being read to like him.
The Storm
Posted by Vicki on Feb 3, 2011
A storm hit Monday night, and over the next few days dropped about 10 inches of snow. That wouldn’t have been so bad, but we had wind on top of it, so it created quite a blizzard for Kansas standards.
School has been out for the past 3 days, which isn’t a bad thing, as I wouldn’t have been out driving yesterday or the day before.
The girls have been sick anyway, so it’s better that school was closed so they don’t officially miss those days. They will miss tomorrow though, as neither one of them is well enough to go, and I can’t imagine them closing school again tomorrow.
Anyway, Dad and I got the car out yesterday so we could take Chief water. It really wasn’t that big of a deal to get the car out…lots of rocking it back and forth, but no digging.
Dad went back to work this afternoon. I don’t know yet when he’ll be home.
We never did lose power, thank goodness. With two sick kids, I really didn’t want to have to rely on only the oven for heat.
Anyway, I’d better move along and get some work done.
Reading
Posted by Vicki on Jan 16, 2011
Even though reading is one of my most favorite passtimes, I haven’t been doing much of it lately. No worries, I’ll pick up the hobby again the first time a new Louis L’Amour arrives. *LOL*
Life has just been busy, so I haven’t been reading much. Most of my spare time has been spent working on the embroidered crib quilt that I started acouple of years ago. I had it about 3/4 of the way done, but then I broke my wrist, and couldn’t work on it. After that I moved acouple of times and it never got unpacked. Anyway, I ran across it awhile ago and pulled it out to finish. I had to finish the crocheted hat I was working on, but as soon as I did that, I got back to work on the quilt. I finished the cross-stitching on it, and I am now in the process of backstitching everything, and then it’ll be ready to put together. I’m so excited!!
Christmas
Posted by Vicki on Dec 28, 2010
I’m afraid I’ve let my blogging slip a bit during this past week. It was very bad of me, and I do apologize. However I can’t be very sorry as I’ve had a wonderful time with the girls.
Christmas was a quiet affair. I did miss my Mom and brothers and sisters, but they were having a big dinner up at Mom’s sister’s place with their family, and while I would have been welcomed, I did not want to leave Dad alone. He would have been welcomed as well, but it would have been too many people for him to have enjoyed the festivities, so I will go up and see Mom and the others some other time.
Soon it will be time to take down the tree, which will be kind of sad, but on the other hand, the tree itself is looking pretty sad. The cats have helped themselves to the ornaments, and knocked the lights out of place. I think it’s about time we think about a new tree anyway, this one looked pretty scruffy when we got it out this year.
Personal Life

Well, I really don’t know what it is that I’m going to talk about in this entry, but I’m sure I’ll think of something as I keep typing.
I do apologize for the lack of personal entries here lately. Things have been busy with this and that, so my time has been limited, and there are times when I just want to kick back and kind of take a break from spending so much time blogging.
I finally made it up to Topeka last week for a major shopping trip. I do most of my big shopping up there at Sam’s Club. I did realize after doing all the shopping, that I hadn’t picked up hardly any meat, but I guess that’s okay, it won’t be long until I make another trip up, and will stock up on meat.
I had to go up again this week to pick up a pair of Dad’s boots that I dropped off last week to be repaired.
Last week I also made a run to Emporia to pick up animal feed, and this past Saturday we did a hay run. So I’ve been kept pretty busy lately, with all the running in preperation for winter.
Some of you might be missing the posts I usually do on books, well I completely missed the November signup for the books, so you’ll see the posts start up again in January. The break from that hasn’t been a bad thing either. I did have one of the authors ask me if I would do a review on his book, to go along with the post I did. It was such a good book that I want to read it again before I do the review though.
Anyway, I guess that’s all I’ll ramble about for now.
My Car
Posted by Vicki on Oct 19, 2010
Well I finally got my car back. I was so happy!! I much prefer my car to driving Bubble’s pickup, although I am very thankful that she did let me borrow the pickup so that we would have transportation while my car was in the shop.
Now it’s just a matter of paying the bill on it. Thankfully the mechanic is willing to accept payments, so we’ll be alright. I can’t complain about the bill either, as it was much lower than what the dealer would have charged me.
So anyway, I think I’m back on the road again, although time will only tell, as I had a bit of a mishap with it this morning, but I’ll tell you all about that on one of my other blogs.
