This Week

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

This week has DEFINITELY had it’s challenges!!

Yesterday, I think I could have used a goodsamers.com truck, if I had gone much further. My morning started out with making an unexpected run to the tire shop and getting not one, but TWO tires put on my pick-up before I could get on with my day.  But, it was kind of worth it this morning when I walked in and paid CASH for my $50+ ticket for the tires and such yesterday!!!

I am beginning to LIKE this cash only basis!!!  For some reason, even though it’s not supposed to happen, cash tends to get people’s attention a bit more than a check or a piece of plastic!!!

Got a BUSY rest-of-the-day, so will let you go with a blessing sent your way!!!

Quotes

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

My day was another busy one!!  I started out running this morning, and my day continued like that ALL the day through the day, with a couple of spur-of-the-moment changes that SHOULD help me have a couple of hours of “free” time tomorrow.  When I say “free” time, I mean time to finish putting up the fence that I’ve been working on, or taking one of our other ones down and moving it some place else.  I don’t think I’ll have time to separate horses tomorrow after I get the fence done and use my “round pen”, but if I can get the fence done, it will be waiting and ready for me to do that on Saturday or Sunday or next week when we are actually supposed to have some drying weather!!!

One of the things I did today in my running was to stop by the insurance lady’s office and get a couple of quotes.  I guess I should have gotten a term life insurance quote while I was at it. I don’t think you can ever have too much life insurance, in certain cases.

Hope you all had a BLESSED day!!!

Bathing My Phone!

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Okay, it’s no secret that my cell phone tried to take a bath here a couple of weeks ago.  For SOME reason, they just don’t make most cell phones to successfully survive taking a bath.  Who woulda thunk it?

Anyway, I went in to an area store to see about getting a replacement and BOY!!  Did I get an education in current cell phones that are available that day!!  Locked phones, an unlocked phone, as well as a smart phone.  I asked the ladies that were in the store if that made mine a dumb phone, ’cause I don’t have a “smart” phone….they just kind of laughed at me.

Lesson #1 on cell phones:  DON’T give them a bath!!

God Bless!!!

Hmmmm…..

With Spring-like weather upon us, we have been spending ALOT more time outside!!  Which is good, because I was starting to get cabin fever, I think, back in December.

We’ve been getting some flowers from our other house in the ground, in between the rain and snow and dark of night.

We’ve also found some that have been on this property for QUITE a while, from the looks of things.  The rose bushes that we’ve found so far look like they are WELL established.  If they were a human, they would probably be wondering which would be the best eye cream for wrinkles, since they are so old.  I am looking forward to seeing if they bloom this year, and if they do, what type of rose and what color they are!!!

God Bless!!!

I Think…

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

…In this day and age, we as people need to resort back to our heritage and the remedies that our ancestors used, in certain cases.  I am one who believes that today’s society over-uses drugs and chemicals and poison-based cleaning supplies and such, and I believe that, every once in a while, we need to take a break from such things and give our bodies a chance to clean itself out.  I think the best colon cleanse that I have heard about in the recent months is one that is all natural.  People sometimes forget, when they are buying cleaning supplies and prescriptions and such, that our bodies were not designed for all of that stuff.  What did our ancestors do before they had chemical-based cleaning supplies?  They used all natural items….that’s what they did.

So, if you take that in to account, and the fact that we have a lagoon for our “sewer system” with this house, we have made more of a change to natural ingredient-based cleaners, as well as not dumping prescritions down the toilet unless we know how they will affect the living environment of our lagoon and such.  We, as a household, are striving to be better…to our environment…to our bodies….to our house and other things around us.  It has DEFINITELY been a learning experience for us, with having the lagoon!

God Bless!!

Skin Care

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Okay, I have to admit that I am not all that up-to-date on skin care products, but arcona might be the one that gets my attention the most.  They have a whole product line out that is supposed to help restore your skin’s balance.

Have you noticed this year that some people are REALLY slow on getting their Christmas decorations down?  And it’s not just individuals!  I know for a fact that a town not too far from here still has their street light decorations up.  What is up with this?  Am I missing something?  Or is it just because Christmas came and went so fast this year that time just got away from alot of people?

Hope you are having a blessed weekend!

Possibly?

Sometimes, I wonder if the way we live as a society actually has an impact on health issues such as acne and such.  Are we doing something that our bodies weren’t designed to do, and that is why some people have to deal with acne more than others?  Maybe it’s the result of a build up of chemicals in our bodies?

They have got alot of different types of acne medicine out there these days.  It’s hard to know which one to choose.  Even the doctor’s can’t always help you find the right choice.

Oh well, just a thought on this Saturday.  God Bless!!

Not Needed!

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Well, I HAVE to say that with all of the outside work that we’ve been doing around here the last couple of weeks that I have NO need for any muscle gain supplements!  Nope, don’t need anything besides a shovel and a pair of gloves!

We’ve gotten ALOT done in the arena of cleaning out stalls and pens and such in the last couple of weeks!  It is starting to look like we are making a dent!!

I’ve got part of my flowers planted that I dug up from the other house last Fall.  They have been in the basement in a metal tub for the Winter.  We will probably work on getting the rest of them in the ground this next week as we dodge the rain showers.

We made a discovery in our drainage ditch out by the road when my partner and I were out burning it here a couple of weeks ago.  When you get down past all of the dead, dry layers of grass, there are irises for about half the length of our North ditch!!  It should be REALLY pretty if they bloom this year!!

We also found 2 more rose bushes that have been there awhile along the fence-line that is North of us.  AND there is another rose bush we found out in our back pasture!!

You all have a BLESSED weekend!!

I Wonder…

..What Moses or Noah would have said about the society today?  Would they have been interested in reading wrinkle cream reviews or computer reviews or anything like that?  What would they have thought about the internet?  Would Noah have gotten the plans for the Ark off of the internet or via his cell phone?  Would Moses have used a GPS when leading the Israelites out of Egypt?

Interesting thoughts, huh?
God Bless!!

Another LONG Day!!

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

And it’s not even CLOSE to being over yet.

Was up before daylight this morning again, and basically had time to grab something to eat and check my websites and jobs and such, and then my day started with a rambunctious boy and some visitors for the day.

Once the day started, it’s been non-stop action with our visitors and my son going non-stop, as well as getting some the majority of my cleaning done this week and checking up on the status of my jobs.  This afternoon has been sprinkled with a smattering of phone calls and car excitement.  NEVER a dull moment around here!!  Soon it will be time to get dinner on and a shower for myself, as well as a bath for my boy and a shower for my significant other.  Then it’ll be a matter of feeding the animals and getting things cleaned up in the kitchen from dinner, and then off to bed to try to grab some rest and then start it all over again come daybreak.

SUCH is my life this week, and my God IS providing for our EVERY need…ABUNDANTLY!!!

God Bless!!
